Choosing Jewellery that Suits You and How You Look
Try and think about the overall look you’re going for. Is your dress a cool, elegant 1930s inspired shift dress - then go for cool, elegant, 1930s inspired jewellery. If you have a romantic princess gown with lots of tulle and sparkle, then go for romantic, larger than life jewellery.
Try also to think about your personality and what you normally like and suits you best. Don't be tempted – when choosing your jewellery or dress – to choose something that ‘is just not you’! If you normally like simple, understated clothes and jewellery – then stick with what you know and choose that for your wedding day.
Finally – think about your shape and build. If you are a larger lady with a larger than average neck, a traditional choker would be the wrong choice.
Why not think about a delicate multi-strand illusion necklace instead.
Conversely a choker would be the perfect choice for someone very tall who wants to enhance a long, slender, elegant neck.
A bride with a larger frame would be able to carry off a chunky, multi-strand necklace that might swamp a more petite bride and a single string of tiny pearls might be lost on someone of larger than average size.
If you like a design but think it may be too delicate or too large for your frame, then why not ask the designer to re-scale it for you? Many of the Swarovski beads are available in several different sizes and it may be possible to customize a design you like using a bead size that suits your needs better.
